Live Entertainment
Alright, let’s jump into the first trend I’m seeing everywhere in 2025 — and it’s one that I’m personally obsessed with: live interactions! We’re seeing couples book a talented calligrapher personalizing wedding favors right before your eyes, or a live painter creating artwork of the ceremony or first dance on canvas as it happens — it really is pure artistry in motion and not only does it leave you and your guests with a keepsake, it also gives everyone a fun memory to simply be apart of. I’m seeing couples really lean into those interactive experiences that make guests feel like a part of the celebration.
One of my favorites has to be the custom hat stations — I mean, what’s cooler than watching a skilled artisan shape and design a one-of-a-kind hat that guests get to take home as a chic memento?
Not to mention, live music has gone next-level, too. Think of a saxophonist or violinist playing alongside the DJ, bringing a fresh, high-energy vibe that makes the dance floor absolutely electric.
For us planners, these live elements are gold because they add that wow factor couples crave while keeping guests entertained in the most personalized way possible.
And for couples, it’s a chance to truly elevate your wedding day — blending style, entertainment, and artistry into moments that no one will forget.
Custom Experiences
Next up on the 2025 trends list is one I’m so excited to see couples leaning into even more — customized accessories!
I’m talking about things like personalized bars, signature cocktails and mocktails, custom signage, napkins, stir sticks — you name it.
Couples are all about making every element of their wedding feel uniquely theirs, and these custom touches are the perfect way to do it. It’s not just about serving a great cocktail (or mocktail) either; it’s about creating an experience that feels thoughtful and intentional.
Those personalized details like cocktail napkins with a fun phrase or your wedding monogram, or stir sticks that match your colour palette — they’re the kind of things guests notice and remember because they show just how much thought went into making the day special. For us planners, this trend is a dream because it’s all about storytelling through design — using these details to weave in elements of the couple’s personality throughout the event. And for couples, it’s a chance to add a layer of personalization that goes beyond the usual décor, making the entire day feel like an extension of who they are.
Colour is Back
Let me just say, I am thrilled to talk about this next trend because, honestly, I’ve always been a huge fan of colour. I’ll be real with you — those all-white and greenery weddings had their moment, but they always felt a little too safe and, dare I say it, boring. That’s why I’m so excited to see couples fully embracing color again in 2025, and doing it in a way that’s bigger, bolder, and more beautiful than ever.
We started seeing hints of this trend creeping in back in 2023, but now it’s everywhere. Couples are going all-in with vibrant palettes, mixing rich jewel tones, playful pastels, and daring colour combos that instantly elevate the vibe. It’s not just about adding a pop of colour here and there; it’s about making it the star of the show — from eye-catching florals to statement tablescapes, even bold fashion choices that break away from tradition.
For planners like me, who’ve always believed that colour is where the magic happens, this trend is a dream come true. It lets us get creative with designing experiences that feel joyful, dynamic, and truly reflective of each couple’s personality. And for all of you couples out there, I love that you’re not afraid to say goodbye to the neutrals and go for something that’s vibrant and full of life!
Content Creators
This next trend is a fun one that’s totally changing the game for weddings in 2025 — couples are hiring content creators specifically to hop on all the TikTok-worthy trends from their big day! It’s not just about the traditional photographer and videographer anymore.
Now, couples want someone who’s dedicated to creating those quick, candid clips that will blow up on social media before the night’s even over (or that they can watch over and over again until their professional photos come back in a few months). I’m seeing more and more couples embrace this trend, using it to lean into viral TikTok trends or to create those spontaneous, behind-the-scenes moments that give guests — and their followers — a front-row seat to all the wedding magic.
From trending dance challenges on the dance floor to creative transitions between getting-ready shots and the ceremony, having a content creator on-site ensures every special moment is instantly shareable and perfectly on-brand.
Traditions Are Coming Back
Next, while we talk about trends, some wedding traditions are making their way back! After a few years of couples throwing the rule book out the window and ditching anything that felt too traditional or expected, we’re seeing a shift where couples are bringing back the elements they genuinely want — but with their own modern twist. Things like heartfelt speeches, classic cake-cutting ceremonies, and real stationery — yes, those beautifully printed invitations that guests can hold onto — are all making a resurgence. It’s less about doing things because they’re ‘supposed to’ and more about embracing the traditions that feel meaningful to them. I love that couples are realizing that they can have the best of both worlds: a celebration that’s rooted in tradition but still feels completely personalized and true to who they are.
For us wedding planners, this trend is exciting because it allows us to weave in those classic moments that make a wedding feel timeless, while still finding ways to make them feel fresh and relevant for today’s couples. And for the couples themselves, it’s about reclaiming those traditions that bring everyone together — from that slice of cake shared on the dance floor to the personal touch of handwritten notes. It’s a beautiful reminder that some traditions stick around for a reason — they’re moments that create connection, celebration, and those unforgettable memories that everyone will talk about for years to come.
Bachelorette Parties
Now let’s talk about how bachelorette and bachelor parties. They are getting a serious glow-up in 2025! Couples and their crews are moving beyond the typical bar crawls and late-night celebrations, opting instead for experiences that get them up, moving, and feeling good. I’ve been seeing more active adventures like hiking, yoga retreats, or even paddleboarding making their way into the mix, turning these pre-wedding parties into something that’s not just fun, but also memorable and rejuvenating. And it’s not just about getting outdoors — there’s a major trend toward wellness-focused bachelorette parties too. Think spa weekends, group meditation sessions, or even fitness classes that end with a toast of green juice or mimosas. Couples want that quality time with their best friends, but they’re also looking for experiences that leave everyone feeling refreshed and recharged instead of just recovering the next day.
Personally, I’m loving this shift because it makes these celebrations all about connection, health, and a little self-care before the big day.
Bridesmaid Dresses
And let’s not forget about the fashion at the wedding itself! Bridesmaid dresses are taking a turn toward the mismatched trend in a big way. They’ve been mismatched for a while but gone are the days of everyone wearing the same shade and silhouette. Now, it’s all about letting your bridal party showcase their individual styles while still keeping a cohesive look. We’re seeing brides choose a colour palette or a specific theme and then letting their bridesmaids pick dresses that suit their personalities and body types. It’s a trend that makes everyone look and feel amazing — and, honestly, those mismatched dresses always look so beautiful in photos!
More Events & Full Wedding Weekends
Another trend that’s taking center stage in 2025 is the rise of multi-day wedding celebrations! Couples are spreading out the festivities over an entire weekend (or even longer!), creating more opportunities to relax, connect, and make memories with their favorite people. From welcome parties and laid-back rehearsal dinners to next-day brunches and poolside hangouts, these extra events are all about making the most of the time spent with loved ones. Couples are realizing that the wedding day itself goes by in a blur, and they want more moments to really soak it all in — to celebrate with friends and family in a more relaxed setting before and after the main event. I’m all for this trend because it’s about shifting the focus from just one day to an entire journey — because let’s face it, when you’ve gathered all your favorite people in one place, why not keep the party going a little longer?
Sustainable/Eco Favors
This next trend will probably come as a surprise to nobody but sustainable and eco-friendly favors were another huge thing this year that I don’t see going away anytime soon. Think things like plantable seed packets, reusable tote bags, handmade soaps, or locally sourced goodies that not only reduce waste but also leave a lasting impression. It’s all about giving your guests a little piece of your celebration that they can take home and enjoy, without adding to their carbon footprint. Plus, these types of favors often tell a story about who you are as a couple and what you care about, which makes them even more meaningful.
